On behalf of the Board of Trustees, we are pleased to advise you of the following benefit adjustments effective July 1, 2025:
EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (EAP)
Effective July 1, 2025, your Employee Assistance Program (EAP) via HumanaCare for short-term counselling has been transitioned to People Connect EAP, the provider of your long-term mental health counselling, for a more comprehensive coverage.
People Connect EAP offers 24/7 individual crisis support and 3 hours of sessions for each category of individual and couples counselling, coaching, and unlimited legal and financial advisory along with the current services offered for long term counselling (i.e. online Mental Health Resource Centre with educational tools, an online mental health assessment and immediate care through affordable virtual therapy). After you’ve used your allotted counselling hours, you can receive ongoing support with a counsellor at your personal expense, noting charged at a rate of $90/hour for virtual, and $110/hour for in-person. You can submit these services to your group benefits plan up to the counselling maximum. Basically, you can continue with the same counsellor you started with if long-term counselling is recommended.

As a reminder, Members can log into the Coughlin Plan Member App through the Apple App store or Google Play store or access through the member portal https://coughlin.onlineclaimsaccess.net to perform many functions such as updating personal information and various claim matters including reviewing your claims history, claim status, benefit statements, and confirm benefit accumulations and/or maximums. In addition, documents are also available to review or print such as booklets, claim submission forms, and Pre-Authorized Deposit forms.
