Every year, April 28th is recognized as the National Day of Mourning across
Canada for workers killed or injured on the job. We would like to invite you to
attend this year’s event.
Date: Monday April 28, 2025
Start Gathering at the UC: Between 11- 11:20 am
Start Time: 11:30 a.m.
Meeting Place: Union Centre- 275 Broadway
East side parking lot facing Garry Street
Memorial Park: approximately 12:00 p.m.
The Annual Memorial Event is hosted by SAFE Workers of Tomorrow and the
Manitoba Federation of Labour. Once all the participants have gathered at the
Union Centre, the Leaders’ Walk will begin at 11:45 a.m. and proceed down
Broadway to Memorial Park for a brief ceremony. The walk draws special
attention to the importance of health and safety for young workers. The Service
includes the MFL’s Vigil to Fallen Workers. Students from two School Divisions
will be joining us in the walk & Ceremony this year.
